Otherside Picnic sounds like GL Stranger Things lol. I like the art on the inside behind the discs alot. Ancient Magus Bride OVA cover is stunning, on my to watch list for sure considering it's set in England. Love Barakamon, it's such a calming show. It's frustrating that its prequel was a gag comedy and not a great one. I have started to throw away the funimation digital copies, I might keep one or two so I remember what they look like but yeah I've started to chuck them when I come across them in my collection. What I find funny about finding Thunder Prince in a HPB is presumably someone at somepoint actually bought it brand new. Not sure if this film is definitely one of them but I know that alot of the Korean animated films that came out like that in the thin cases were basically bootlegs of Anime where they took the art they were painting from Japan and made their own weird movies out of them. You probably knew that already. I shoud watch one of them some day. Yay Weathering Continent! Such a great little fantasy OVA that is way overlooked. I hope you enjoy/enjoyed it. $4 is why I can't help recommending this one, it's certainly one of the better deals out there for old school Anime fans lol Air is a show I zipped through so long ago. Decent drama, the film is directed by Dezaki lol. I have to be really in the mood to like that sort of character design these days. Usually it'll take me watching a few shows from the period for it to feel 'normal' again. Not a classic style I miss a whole lot lol. I watched Crest of the stars about a decade ago. I liked it but don't remember it at all. For some reason I didn't follow it up with Banner of the Stars. I own all of the franchise now though with the Funimation rerelease they did so I'm looking into watching it all from the beginning soon. Crest of the Stars is cel animated which is nice. The character designs are alittle off I agree, in the 90's there was this weird thing going on with chins and jaws in the world of character designing. They really experimented alot with that, not sure why really or where than trend started but alot of shows in the mid to late 90's had it going on. Saber Marionette J being the worst offender from memory. Another great haul Val :D

Always cheering for Sailor Moon pickups 🥳 I own that exact Barakamon set, such a nice little joy! And Crest of the Stars-now that takes me back. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I streamed the whole season and mostly liked it, but my family has owned that random disc 3 copy for YEARS 😂

I had a lot of fun watching Lupin Zero. It was fun watching him and Jigan interacting with each other as kids lol. I still need to watch Lupin the 3rd part 6. I'll probably watch it soon hopefully. Man, I always regret not picking up the Space Brothers DVDs. I always heard nothing but great things about it. I remember watching a little bit of Majestic Prince but never finished the series. I think that's one of the mech series Dylan quite enjoyed. Gotchaman cover art is gorgeous! Alex Ross did them. He is one my favorite comic book artist. I picked up Dunbine on the sentai sale too. I can't wait to check it out. It's so great to see a new haul from you Val!

Nice haul! Funnily enough I've also been repeatedly putting off Lupin III: Part 6. Gotta get to it and this was a reminder lol. Hakumei and Mikochi is one of my favorite Iyashikei series! I also highly recommend the manga for it as it has some of the most gorgeous art I've seen! I loved Gatchaman Crowds (both season) since it was such a unique and quirky show, I assume the classic Gatchaman is very different by comparison. Hope you're doing well!

Another great haul as always! adored Lupin Zero as well, don't feel it gets talked about enough and felt like a love letter to fans of Part 1. Part 6 is great as well, not as much as Part 4 and 5 for me but it being set in England where I'm from (as I've mentioned before 😂), it was nice seeing the little details, one thing that stood out was seeing the store, Boots, in the background of some shots, the last thing I'd ever expect to see in an anime. For reference if you don't know it, Boots would be the equivalent of a Drug Store I'd like to say. Got quite the Lupin haul myself recently as well, 4 movies and 4 TV specials. Mamo, Prison of the Past and the two Detective Conan titles I've seen before and First Contact, Swallowtail Tattoo, Dead or Alive and Farewell to Nostradamus will be new for me. Getting relatively close to owning all of what is available for Lupin on blu-ray now which feels so good to have. I haven't heard of Hakumei and Mikochi before but it looks and sounds so adorable, I'll definitely have to check it out. Gatachaman is a classic I've wanted to check out as well, the art on that set is lovely. Keep up the hauls as always! 😊

Sentai! 💚💚💚 Dunbine and Laidbackers always intrigued me, but I’ve yet to watch them. Majestic Prince was ~ok for me. Young Lupin DOES look fun as hell! And I’ll have to check out Sasami-San-never heard of it!

Yay Val Haul! Lupin Zero is the only Lupin thing I'm missing right now. It looks alot of fun and I love that they made it. Next Sentai sale order I do I'm definitely adding it to that. Part 6 I do have but have yet to put in, like you I would like to do that this year. Main reason I haven't is I'm still in this afterglow that Part 5 gave me despite it being 18 months ago now. It was so good and I don't want that to cloud my enjoyment of Part 6. Hakumei and Mikochi is such a delightfully cute show. I love following these little fairy like beings and their tiny society but the subjects for episode involve them getting drunk while fishing, having neighborhood townhall like meetings, ghost hunts or just straight up fixing stuff. Just so much fun. If you can fit it in you'll probably zip through Space Brothers. The movie is great. So hyped that this show is most likely going to finally continue now the manga is done. Majestic Prince is definitely in the B tier of Mecha show imo, it was decent. Though others rate it much more highly like Dylan for example. It's sorta like a Super Sentai show but with Mecha which is probably why alot of people like it so much. Sasami-san was on my 'to get' list for years but as my collection grew it never made it into that final order in a Sentai Sale. It is a SHAFT series so I bet it looks amazing. I would still like to watch it one day. Can't believe it's over a decade old already. Laidbackers similarly I remember alot of ads for back then. Looks nice, I like the packaging alot. I often get it mixed up with Dragon Dentist. Aura Battler Dunbine is a wild ride, it will probably surprise you where it goes. It's a beautiful looking show. The world of Byston Well is one of the stranger creations of Tomino but it's interesting. Compared to the majority of its peers the show really stands out with the fantasy setting. In hindsight alot of the characters give me Zeta Gundam vibes. Good call on the dub, it's a bit of a mess. Sidenote - I really want to build a Dunbine kit one day, the bug like designs are so cool. Alex Ross did the art for the ADV and in turn Sentai sets for Gatchaman, it's truly beautiful. There was a full size artbook released for it around when ADV did their release but it's nearly impossible to find now. The previous BD set came with a mini artbook I think. Looks great on Blu Ray and I love the dub they did for this show. I watched 30 eps along time ago and keep meaning to go back and finish it. It's amazing to have such a long show of this vintage fully dubbed. One of the best opening themes of all time too. Amazing Haul Val! Hope you are doing okay :)

I really hope that since almost everything has been released outside of the italian Job and lupin vs Cats eye on bluray now that discotek goes back and does the 5 tv specials and green vs Red on bluray that are still only currently available on dvd and also rerelease island of Assassins on bluray since its getting costly now. And ofcourse do part 2 on bluay since its well overdue and plot of the fuma Clan (Fuma conspiracy)

Few things as satisfying for Anime collectors as a Discotek Haul I got Kodacha last year, really interested in seeing this classic. Not sure if I'm going to go dub for the first set or not, the dub sounds like fun but is very frenetic but them so are the subs. Lots of very fast dialogue which I hope doesn't detract from my own enjoyment of the show. Project A-Ko 4 Final is pretty good as a finale, it certainly packs in more than 3 which if I can recall was abit more simple. There is another A-Ko OVA called the Uncivil Wars but that had a different licensor and is wildly different, definitely not a sequel but just a complete reimagining but with the same characters. Central Park Media put it out in th epast so there is a way to get it. I used the reverse covers on the inside for all the Project A-Ko's, they're all the original posters for the OVAs. Cutie Honey is abit of a blindspot for me, I have it all but as yet haven't dived into it all beyond the first 8 or so episodes of the 1973 series. I might skip forward and go for the 90's OVA and RE:Cutie Honey just so I can get some of franchise watched. Love the theme but then who doesn't. The Final Stage release of Aim for the Ace Discotek did is the 80's OVAs. There was another 70s series but I don't think that is on the cards to be released, it was a remake of the original despite coming out only 5 or so years later. Basically the original did really well in reruns despite being cancelled initially and rather than bring it back to be continued they started over from scratch. I don't know if that version actually gets any further into the story or not. All abit strange. Anyway not sure why I'm telling you all of this but hey now you know I guess lol. My main curiosity with Saint Tail is the fact it all takes place at a catholic school in Japan which I'm sure exists somewhere but still abit of an oddity. I wonder if there was just this intrigue into western religion and its iconography in the 90's that bled into Anime because obviously Evangelion is full of it as well despite none of it meaning anything, at least according to Anno anyway. Also I find it strange that the series has this religious setting but the main character is a cat burglar/magic girl of sorts as well. The art looks amazing and the Blu Ray is so nice, TMS really have taken care of some of their classics and couple that with their desire to get so many of those shows out in the West as well has left us with some beautiful releases from Discotek. I mean this in the nicest way possible but I'm so glad to see someone else get a Discotek release with misprinted slips or artwork. Because it has happened to me quite a few times, so yeah an unfortunate welcome to the club lol. Though none of mine are quite as bad as that slip, though my Samurai Warriors might come close. I watched the two dub episodes of Cobra on that set, it was quite good so a shame they couldn't continue it. A franchise I need to jump into soon as I've owned it all for awhile. Sounds like the Movie is a great place to start so maybe sooner rather than later. I'm upto date on the Discotek Lupin sets at the moment, just missing Lupin Zero from Sentai. Can't believe we are getting the last of the TV specials in a couple of months. Well apart from Italian Game which given it's just a re-edit of early Part IV episodes I don't know if we'll get that at all, though for completions sake it'd be nice. I wonder what Lupin information we'll get at Otakon from Discotek, maybe a Part II Blu Ray of some kind? I'd really like to get the specials still on DVD only upgraded to Blu Ray. Oh and the Cat's Eye crossover which is surely just a question of when and if it'll be Sentai or Discotek. The Mike Toole commentary is great for Arcadia of my Youth, the film also looks beautiful on Blu Ray. I had always wanted Mike to do a Galaxy Express commentary but this is the closest we ever got. The Hong Kong English Dub is also a nice curiosity. Has been awhile since I've had a tight slipcover, seems to be only an issue with the old slip designs. Val that last shot is just an amazing collection to see. Discotek really spoil us, Anime spanning 30 years of all genre and styles. Great Haul Val! p.s I don't know if this was knew but I liked the chill music in the background :)

I still need to pick up Lupin the III: Angel Tactics. I've been slacking on my Lupin pickups. Space Adventure I always thought it had one of the coolest cover art for an anime Blu-ray. I need to check it out someday, same for Aim for the Ace. I like tennis so seems like something I would enjoy. Great haul as usual Val!

I haven't watched any of these, but I want to get Kodocha, Saint Tail, and Aim for the Ace. Those definitely appeal to me.

Love the new background posters. Read or Die is really great. I should return to it. I love all the paper powers, reminds me of Gambit from X-Men. I've apparently seen Puppet Princess but don't really remember it much, I think it had some surprising nudity and violence. I remember enjoying Detatoko Princess, hadn't seen Tenchi Muyo at the time but now that I have I should return to it by the sounds of it. Pretty sure I have it somehwere round here. Fortunately alot of Media Blasters OVA releases have remained cheap, must've printed too many. Love that you did that when buying Kizuna lol. Oh god I've seen Loveless lol, I watched it a couple of years ago and uh it's certainly something haha. The mini shorts with the characters in chibi mode or something were really funny from memory. As you know Yamibo is now on my radar, sounds like fun. I've owned L/R twice now. I remember not overly loving it but really wanting to, especially with the British accents and stuff. Not returned to it but would like to. Love opening old Anime volumes decades later (that Vol.3 you opened turned 20 years old on March 23rd), feels like your finally giving the DVD its purpose and a home after so many years of it being lonely lol. In the last 4 years Universal Japan made very bad audio cd's. They increase too much the signal level, and we cannot listen hte cd's because the big distorsions of hugher and medii sound appear, for this reason I left the company, too many cd's are very bad, it become a sickness to increase so much the signal level, they do not accept critics frm buyers and they care only about their money. They don't care about customers, Universal Japan is today a very bad professional people team. So sad and so ashame. I hope many people will leave the japanese shop soon.

Very impressive! Would you say there's anything you prefer on DVD over Blu Ray in terms of sound/resolution? Or is it all just better overall? I'm new to Lupin but really liking Green Jacket series, thinking of getting Cagliostro on 4k! Here's hoping part 2 gets a Blu Ray release!

I only bought Ultimate Muscle from the Crunchyroll store, and it showed up safe and sound. Blood C is a good show, though I've never really wanted to watch it again. It has a wild bloody ending. Brother's Conflict is a fun time! I can't remember who my favorite boy was, but I liked Micah Solusod's brother.

Great haul! I also bought Orange l.e and I also got AOT Juniour High l.e, Aquarion Evol part 1 l.e. I should've bought Brother's Conflict since that set looks good. I watched Kisibe on Netflix and it was good but I wished it was longer.

I love getting more mech series. So I might have to check out Gun Busters. It looks like a fun one. I need to pickup Ashita no Joe movie. Always been a big boxing fan. Plus I loved the spin-off Megalo Box. Always wished we would have gotten an English manga release for Ashita no Joe. Great haul as always Val!

The art on the inside wrap and the discs for The Vampire Dies In No Time is great. I like the comedy in this show quite abit and the dub was great, especially Frank Todaro as Dralc. Need to get back to One Piece now that Wano is over. I stopped exactly before the Film Red filler episodes. That Foil cover is amazing, I've once again fallen behind on One Piece physical releases, something I'll have to try and rectify eventually. I just bought all of Violet Evergarden as the series and ova were on sale, so I bundled them together with the movie too. Really looking forward to finally watching this modern classic, obviously heard and read you gushing about it for awhile along with others so really excited to see it. Gunbuster is sci-fi perfection. That ending absolutely got to me and on so many levels as well. One of the best Anime endings ever and frankly endings in fiction period. Absolutely blew me away. Literally will hit 2000 on MAL within the next couple of weeks and I've still not watched Sailor Moon, I'm abit ashamed about that lol. Especially since I have it too. Anyway I'm sure I've mentioned that everytime you've talked about it so hopefully one day I'll get to it. Maybe before 3000 lol. It's maddening to me that I've still not watched Miss Hokusai since I've had it for years and I love Japan historically set anime. It looks beautiful. Not really heard much about Goodbye Don Glees myself but looking into it right now it seems like it could be really good. I especially like the character designs. I made the grave mistake of doing my watch of Haruhi Season 2 aka the same as the original but expanded and I watched it up to the next episode being the endless eight arc and I stopped and now I'd certainly have to start over. I started watching the series of Ashita no Joe last year but actually fell off it as I wasn't enjoying it. I plan to go back but it didn't quite meet my expectations. I found Joe really unlikable at first or annoying anyway and that is the point and I know he and the show will get better but idk I just wasn't feeling it. I will certainly give it another try because of how iconic it is. I think once it actually gets to the boxing show it's destined to be then I will enjoy it but 16 episodes in and it still wasn't there so I dropped it for something else. Maybe I should just watch the films instead. Robotic;Notes is pretty cool, certainly the most gentle of the science adventure shows though it still has its moments. I've only seen it the one time but it was good and I still remember it pretty well. Great Haul Val!! :D
